Information We Collect & How It Is Used

To deliver Card Slab Connect, we store information you voluntarily provide, including your account credentials such as your email address and chosen collector handle.

We also store cards you add to your vault, including player name, set, sport, grader, grade, certification number, photos, notes, estimated values and trade status. Your wishlist targets, card likes and follow connections are also used to provide the collection, community and trade-matching features.

Strict Card-Only Content & AI Verification

Card Slab Connect is dedicated to genuine sports cards, trading cards and certified grading slabs. When you add a card, our automated visual scanner checks the photo to confirm that it is a trading card and assists with pre-filling card details.

Non-card images such as selfies, personal or family photos, screenshots, memes, pets and unrelated objects are prohibited. Non-compliant images may be rejected during upload or removed through moderation.

Automatic Removal of Photo GPS & Location Metadata

Smartphone photos can contain embedded metadata such as GPS coordinates and device information. Card Slab Connect removes GPS location information and EXIF metadata from card photos before they are saved.

• Camera and device metadata is stripped from uploaded card images.
• This helps protect the physical location of your collection.

Financial & Portfolio Net Worth Privacy

Portfolio valuations can be sensitive. Through Settings → Privacy Controls, you can enable 'Hide Financials & Portfolio Net Worth'.

When enabled, individual card values, purchase prices and your estimated portfolio value are concealed when other collectors view your profile or inspect your cards.

Granular Privacy & Visibility Controls

Card Slab Connect provides individual controls over different areas of your account visibility.

• Private Profile: Limit visibility of your profile in community searches.

• Private Wishlist: Keep your acquisition targets confidential.
• Follow Handshake Approval: Review and approve follower requests manually.

Multitasking Screen Privacy Shield

When attending card conventions, trade shows or other public venues, switching between apps can expose portfolio information to people nearby.

Card Slab Connect includes a Task Switcher Privacy Shield that covers sensitive information when the app loses focus or is minimized. Inactivity Auto-Lock can provide additional protection when a device is left unattended.

Community Safety, Moderation & Ban Penalties

Members can report counterfeit cards, non-card photos or inappropriate behavior using the reporting tools available within Card Slab Connect.

Moderators can review reports, remove violating content and apply temporary suspensions or permanent bans where appropriate. Intentionally false, fraudulent or retaliatory reports are also prohibited.

Data Security & Storage

Card Slab Connect uses modern cloud infrastructure to store account and collection information. Authentication safeguards and secure session mechanisms are used to help protect access to your account.

Offline caching may also allow you to access saved collection information when network coverage is unavailable, such as at card shows and conventions.

Data Self-Custody, Export & Permanent Deletion

You maintain control over the information you store in Card Slab Connect. You can export your collection archive in JSON format and export FAQ and Privacy Policy information in CSV format.

Account deletion controls are also available through Settings. When you request permanent account deletion, associated account, card vault, wishlist, likes and profile records are scheduled for removal in accordance with our applicable data-retention and legal obligations.
